1. what is the "virtual academy"?
the virtual academy tries to transfer the vienna poetry school´s concept of teaching and learning into a virtual space – the internet. it includes interactive courses taught by renowned artists at home in different fields of media.

2. what do i need as a student?
all you need is access to the internet and your own e-mail address. the courses are free.

3. how can i enroll at the virtual academy?
click on 'participation' and register as a student of the academy. your account will be activated immediately. your password will appear on the screen after a few seconds and automatically also be sent to your e-mail address.

4. do i have to register separately for each course i choose?
no. your username and password will make you eligible to any number of courses. the number of contributions you send for each assignment is also up to you.

5. how do i receive my teacher´s feedback?
within each course you can retrieve all students´contributions via mouseclick on 'all entries'. here you can choose whether these should appear in alphapetical or chronological order or according to assessment from best to worst.
contributions that have already been commented on by the teacher will be indicated by 1-4 points representing the score.
click on the contribution you are interested in. it will appear in full length along with the teacher's written comment.
the teachers will check and comment on the contributions regularly but not every day.
you are well-advised to read the teachers' 'news' for the latest information about how to get hold of them when needed.

6. why has my contribution not been commented on at all?
as a rule, this means that it did not appear interesting enough to the teacher.

7. is there any possibility to come face to face with the teachers?
there will be two meetings at cafe stein, more info here.

8. i am a student enrolled at an austrian univerity (e.g. academy of fine arts) and want my course at the virtual academy to be counted as an optional subject (freifach). how can i get this done?
for this and further information worth knowing for academic students click here.
